Tragic accident: Car hits and kills 38-year-old woman in Nashik | Nashik News

Nashik: A 38-year-old woman returning home from work on her moped was hit by a car Adgaon on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Jyoti Barvea resident of Madsangvi.
Police said Jyoti Barve was riding a scooter on the Sambhajinagar highway when the car hit her around 11.15 p.m. The woman suffered serious injuries, police added. A relative of the woman, who happened to be near the accident site, identified her and took her to a private hospital with the help of an autorickshaw driver.
She was declared dead by doctors, police said, adding that police have arrested the auto driver, a 33-year-old resident of Hirawadi in Panchavati. The driver had turned up at the hospital where Jyoti Barve was taken after the accident.
Adgaon police registered a case of culpable homicide of the car driver under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and other sections of the Motor Vehicles Act. The deceased woman worked in a garment shop in Nashik city and used to commute between Madsangvi and Nashik city on her two-wheeler. She leaves behind her husband and two children.
