Two people, including a 15-year-old driver, have died in a head-on crash in Rosemount.

On Monday around 3:30 p.m., officers with the Dakota County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle accident on County Road 46 near Biscayne Avenue.

Witnesses reported that a Ford Fusion was traveling east on County Road 46 behind a tractor-trailer. The Ford attempted to get around the tractor-trailer in a no-passing zone when an oncoming Lincoln MKX approached in the westbound lane.

Both cars entered the northbound lane at the same time and collided, according to witness statements.

The driver of the Ford, 15-year-old David Rojas, and the driver of the Lincoln, 81-year-old Dennis Dahlstrom, both died at the scene. The 78-year-old passenger in the Lincoln suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital.
