Israel attacks Beirut as the US says it opposes the scale of the airstrike

At least one Israeli attack hit Beirut’s southern suburbs early Wednesday morning, Reuters witnesses said, hours after the United States said it was rejecting the scale of Israeli attacks on the city amid rising death tolls and fears of a wider regional escalation.

Reuters witnesses heard two explosions and saw plumes of smoke rising from two different parts of the city.

This came after Israel issued an evacuation order early Wednesday that only mentioned one building.
