Four people suffer life-threatening injuries in a UTV accident in Otoe County

OTOE COUNTY, Neb. (KOLN) – Four people suffered life-threatening injuries after a UTV accident Sunday in Otoe County.

The Otoe County Sheriff’s Office responded at 11:12 a.m. to a two-injured vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway 128 and County Road 38 involving a pickup truck and a UTV. Officers arrived at the scene and began providing medical care and life-saving measures to four juvenile victims from the UTV until fire and rescue services from Talmage, Nebraska City and Syracuse responded to provide medical care.

A juvenile from the UTV was flown by helicopter from the scene to Bryan Health. The other juveniles from the UTV were transported to Syracuse Area Health and later taken to Bryan Health for serious injuries.

The driver of the pickup, a 41-year-old man from Nebraska City, was not injured.

According to the sheriff’s office, the UTV was traveling south on County Road 38 and struck the pickup truck at the intersection as it was traveling east on Highway 128.

The Otoe County Sheriff’s Office is continuing the investigation.
