Attack on Ravens fans: Police identify possible suspect in attack on Commanders fans

Baltimore police have identified a possible suspect in connection with a viral video showing a man wearing a Ravens jersey attacking two others wearing Commanders jerseys in Federal Hill, the department said Tuesday.

Investigators are trying to locate and speak to the victims of the attack, police said.

Video of the incident was posted on social media on Sunday evening and shared by multiple accounts. A post on X that shared the video had more than 46 million views as of Thursday afternoon.

The Commanders were in Baltimore on Sunday to take on the Ravens in a rivalry game that drew particular attention because the Washington team was doing better than it has in years.

The police did not provide any information about the identity of the possible suspect. But internet detectives quickly claimed to have identified the attacker and directed messages to the alleged suspect’s employer, tagging him in replies to X and commenting on her recent posts on Instagram and Facebook. The Banner is not naming the possible suspect because he is not accused of a crime.

The employer — insurance company Maury Donnelly & Parr Inc. — responded to several comments and posts, saying the person in the video is no longer employed by the company.

In an email Tuesday, Maury Donnelly & Parr confirmed that a person with the same name as the alleged suspect was fired. His employment lasted one month, the company said.

In the 20-second video, a man wearing a Lamar Jackson jersey approaches two men wearing Commanders jerseys outside the Cross Street Market on South Charles Street.

There appears to be brief eye contact between the men in the Commanders jerseys and the man in the Ravens jersey before he kicks and punches one of the fans, including a direct punch to the face. He then drags another into a nearby wall before pushing him away.

The man in the Ravens jersey then walks away, turns around and yells “I’m not losing” while appearing to flex an arm.

The Ravens defeated the Commanders 30-23 in Sunday’s game.

Baltimore police ask anyone with information about the identities of the victims to contact Crime Stoppers at 410-396-2499 or Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7-LockUp.
