Stabbing in Ithaca leads to admission to trauma center

ITHACA, NY (WETM) – A man was taken to a trauma center after he was stabbed in the chest at an apartment complex in Ithaca Tuesday morning, Ithaca police said.

Officers responded to a reported stabbing at 118 E Green St in Ithaca around 6 a.m. on Tuesday, October 15th. The male victim was said to have been stabbed in the chest and was bleeding to death when officers arrived at the scene. Police administered first aid to the man to control the bleeding until he could be transported to a nearby trauma center.

During an interview with the victim, police learned that the stabbing occurred on the eighth floor of the Asteri Ithaca apartment building. Police have not identified any potential suspects at the time of this report.

According to police, the stabbing victim is currently in stable condition.
