Red Rock Casino officer honored for stopping violent stabbings

The officer who intervened during aviolent incident at Red Rock Casino is recognized for his quick action.

According to officials, a guest got into a verbal argument with employees that quickly escalated into a physical altercation in which two employees were stabbed.

That’s when security guard Jefferson Hrusovsky intervened and shot the suspect, identified as a 25-year-old Shayne Sussman.

Officer Hrusovsky was recognized during Tuesday’s Clark County Commission meeting for his quick actions in preventing a potentially deadly incident.

Shayne Sussman pleaded guilty Tuesday to three counts of attempted murder.

He is scheduled to be sentenced in November.
