New crime-fighting tool helps Beaumont police solve an early Sunday murder

The Beaumont Police Department is crediting its new crime-fighting tool, the Real-Time Crime Center, with making a real difference in solving two recent murder cases.

Sergeant. Thomas Swope says surveillance cameras connected to the Real-Time Crime Center helped lead investigators to the suspect who shot and killed 24-year-old Gregory Carrington Sunday morning.

Sergeant. Tom Swope tells KFDM/Fox 4 News: Andre Williams II, 23, of Beaumont, surrendered on a warrant in the murder of 24-year-old Gregory Carrington of Beaumont.

Multiple shots were fired and Carrington died at the gas pumps outside the Exxon/Honey’s Drive-In early Sunday morning.
