Witness and parents respond to shooting near West Orange Stark Middle School

WEST ORANGE – The Texas Department of Public Safety continues to investigate an officer-involved shooting and chase that occurred near West Orange Stark Middle on W. Green Ave. ended in orange.

The chase began just after 9 a.m. Tuesday when a suspect fled following a disturbance in Bridge City.

It all happened near the middle school, where the school administration was sheltering students and staff until the scene was safe.

Many businesses line W. Green Ave., where the suspect was shot by police officers.

KFDM 6 News Anchor Erika Harris spoke with a Wendy’s employee who says she witnessed the chase and a concerned parent whose seventh-grader attends West Orange Stark Middle School.
