Inside the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2024: The best moments, looks and appearances

The 2024 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show returned with bright red revenge on Tuesday, October 15th. It was a feat that few believed would allow the lingerie brand to put behind a series of controversies in less than a decade that almost tarnished its credibility with women forever. In fact, times were so difficult that executives canceled the 2019 fashion show indefinitely — a decision you can read all about in a recent new book about the brand’s complicated history.

Five years and a global rebrand later, Victoria’s Secret has emerged from this identity crisis with a confidence and generosity not seen before. The casting for this year’s show feels much more inclusive, including curvy models like Paloma Elsesser and Ashley Graham alongside veterans like Gigi and Bella Hadid, Tyra Banks, Barbara Palvin, Candice Swanepoel, Adriana Lima and Jasmine Tookes. Outdated tropes like the multi-million dollar “fantasy bra” and explicitly referring to models as “angels” seem to have been completely done away with. And instead of booking a star-studded act to perform alongside the models, the show opted to feature three legendary artists: Grammy winner Tyla, “Goddess of Pop” Cher and K-pop star Lisa.
