Man dead, Tiktoker known as ‘World Dawg’ hospitalized in Miramar shooting

MIRAMAR – A man is dead and his cousin was hospitalized after a shooting early Tuesday, Miramar police said.

The shooting happened at 6190 Miramar Parkway near a Dunkin and Sunoco station in Miramar. The deceased man was found about a half-mile away at 2200 State Road 7 at Southwest 23rd Street, also in Miramar.

According to a cousin who did not want to go on camera, Kevern Flynn, about 30, died in the shooting.

According to family members, the wounded man was identified as a Tiktoker named “World Dawg.” The uncle said his first name was Akim and that he knew he was being treated at Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood.

State Route 7 was closed during the investigation.

Another cousin is hospitalized at Memorial Hospital Miramar and is in stable condition.

All three were at a party the night before, according to the cousin who spoke to CBS News Miami.

Flynn’s pregnant wife showed up near where his body was found and collapsed when she received the news. She was taken away by ambulance.

Alexis Nazario, a neighbor, told CBS News Miami that he tried to comfort Kevern Flynn’s distraught wife after she collapsed near the crime scene.

Nazario said: “She passed out here and we gave her a seat to go to and then the whole family came over. That’s really sad. He’s a young guy.”

The police said there was no information about the suspects.

Patricia Riviera, who lives nearby, said: “I heard gunshots after gunshots.”

Another person who lives closer to Dunkin’ said it sounded like more than five shots.

At 3:29 a.m., Miramar police were alerted to reports of shots fired. They saw bullet casings at the crime scene, but no victims.

Police then received a 911 call saying a man was in stable condition at Memorial Hospital Miramar. It was not reported how the man got to the hospital.

A short time later, police responded to State Route 7. The man was found dead in the back seat of a black car. A tarpaulin was placed over the vehicle.

CBS News Miami’s Morgan Rynor ​​​​reported across the street in Westlake and saw two men handcuffed, stripped of their jewelry and taken by police to where the body was found.

Police later said they were witnesses.

A Miramar police spokeswoman said they believe this is an isolated incident and there is no danger to the public. Witnesses were interviewed.

The Broward Sheriff’s Office provided assistance because Westlake falls under the agency’s jurisdiction.
