Nebraska crash deaths rose 28% in September

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Road deaths in Nebraska increased 28% in September compared to a year ago.

There were 27 traffic fatalities last month, up from 21 in September 2023, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.

Nearly half of the vehicle occupants who died were not wearing seatbelts, NDOT said.

Six of the people killed were motorcyclists.

So far this year, 193 people have died in accidents in Nebraska. That’s a 20% increase from the same point in 2023.
