A 23-year-old Pleasanton man was arrested for driving under the influence early on the morning of Oct. 6 after the vehicle he was driving struck the median on Grand Avenue.

The accident was reported at 1:12 a.m. after a loud crash and a screech were heard, according to police records.

A few minutes later, a vehicle was located with a broken wheel on the driver’s side. According to Piedmont Police Department Captain Chris Monahan, one person was arrested after admitting to driving the vehicle. He was taken to Santa Rita Prison in Dublin.

On October 7, a residential burglary was reported on Fairview Avenue. An alarm was reportedly triggered at 10:41 p.m. Police arrived and discovered someone had attempted to force entry into the apartment through the back door, Captain Monahan said. He said officers also discovered the detached garage door was open. A neighbor who reported the alarm said he didn’t see anyone in the area. There is no reported loss.

On October 5th a leaf blower was taken from Wildwood Avenue at 10:46 a.m. The suspect fled in a silver 2007 Honda Civic.

Using video surveillance, police identified a suspect “known” to the department. Captain Monahan said the suspect was identified by his probation officer.

The leaf blower is valued at $250.
