Oklahoma City Thunder at Denver Nuggets

Oklahoma City Thunder at Denver Nuggets

The Oklahoma City Thunder are in Denver to take on the Nuggets in an away contest that mimics how the team opens its regular season. They had a four-day break and now travel to Denver to return to action and continue preparing for the regular season.

The club only has two preseason contests left before beginning the regular season. With the Thunder entering the new season with so much anticipation, having them hit the ground running could be huge for team morale.

The Nuggets’ preseason play provides the team with a good opportunity to improve their conditioning and games in order to start the new season strong.

Thunder:

Jaylin Williams is out (knee)

Kenrich Williams is out (knee)

Nikola Topic, out (knee)

Nuggets:

Nikola Jokic, out

Russell Westbrook, out

Jamal Murray, out (knee)

Peyton Watson, questionable (hamstring injury)

DeAndre Jordan, questionable (rest)

DaRon Holmes II, out (Achilles tendon)

Denver will be shorthanded. They won’t go into this game completely healthy. Nuggets head coach Mike Malone addressed his team and explained the importance of conditioning.

The Thunder will have to do without at least their three injured players. Additionally, no dormant players have been announced yet, if there will be any. Be sure to check back for an update on starters and who is available.

The spread between the two teams is narrow. The Thunder are a 3.5-point favorite on the road over the Nuggets. However, the odds for the previous season don’t say much. How many different players play is far from known, and the injury report is usually only announced shortly before the game.

Since the Nuggets are likely resting some players and the Thunder haven’t revealed whether that’s the case or not, it stands to reason that Oklahoma City is the favorite.
