Portlanders have a total of 19 mayoral candidates on the ballot. The Oregonian/OregonLive and KGW selected the candidates invited to the debate based on who had raised the most Portland donors and who had raised the most money in campaign contributions, excluding city matching funds.

For the first time this year, Portland voters will use ranked-choice voting to elect a new mayor as the city ushers in the new form of government that voters approved in 2022. Portland voters are allowed to nominate up to six mayoral candidates in their order of preference.

Voters have until Tuesday evening at 11:59 p.m. to register to vote. County election offices will begin mailing out ballots on Wednesday.

Election day is Tuesday, November 5th.
