Shooting on Yarborough Road | Two men were found shot to death in a Cumberland County home

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WTVD) — An investigation is underway into a fatal shooting that left two people dead in Cumberland County on Tuesday.

The shooting occurred at a home in the 3600 block of Yarborough Road, a Fayetteville address near Hope Mills.

The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office said the 911 call came in a few minutes after 11 a.m

Officers discovered that two men had been shot. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

It was not clear what led to the shooting. Authorities withheld the names of the victims until they notified family members.

Friends and family were at the scene for hours, talking to investigators and waiting for more answers about the incident.

Yarborough Road was closed for part of the investigation but has since reopened.

FPD said a 42-year-old Fayetteville man is wanted for questioning. He has not been named as a suspect, but police said they are looking for a white 2020 Volkswagen Passat with NC registration KMY-5114.
