  • Police charge 18-year-old with drunk driving after fatal crash in Arlington

    Arlington, VA — An 18-year-old man has been charged with drunken driving after a crash that left one person dead early Saturday morning in Tara-Leeway Heights.

    According to the Arlington County Police Department (ACPD), officers and firefighters were dispatched to the 2200 block of N. Harrison St. just before 2 a.m. for a report of a single-vehicle crash. Upon arrival, paramedics began treating a passenger who suffered life-threatening injuries.

    The passenger, identified as 19-year-old Nicholas Rados of Arlington, was taken to the hospital but tragically succumbed to his injuries.

    Preliminary investigation revealed that Brooks Bare, also 18 and of Arlington, was driving the vehicle north on N. Harrison St. when he struck several parked, unoccupied vehicles on the side of the road, causing his car to overturn.

    In addition to Bare and Rados, there were three other passengers in the vehicle at the time of the accident. One of them was taken to hospital with minor injuries but has since been released. The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to determine the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident.

    Washington, D.C – A brazen burglary has prompted a call for help from the public as authorities try to identify the suspects involved.

    On Sunday, suspects forced their way into a business in the 1300 block of H Street in Northeast around 5:27 a.m. They stole property from the facility before fleeing the scene.

    Surveillance cameras captured images of the suspects that could be helpful in the investigation.

The department is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of those responsible for crimes in the District of Columbia.
