Driver dies in violent rollover on I-70

KANSAS CITY — One person died in a crash just after 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in Kansas City.

According to KCPD Detective Jake Becchina, an Audi A5 was traveling eastbound on Interstate 70 at a very high rate of speed. In the area of ​​Interstate 70 and Prospect, the driver was unable to negotiate the curve in the highway. The vehicle left the road to the right and overturned several times, throwing the driver and sole occupant, who was not wearing a seatbelt, out of the vehicle.

EMS transported the driver to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

According to Becchina, this is the No. 75 death toll compared to No. 78 this time last year. The accident is still under investigation.
