Tyla appears at the 2024 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show

Leave it to Tyla to make the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show “jump.”

At the VS Fashion Show 2024 on October 15, South African star Tyla took the stage as part of the runway event’s first all-female line-up. The Grammy winner brought her own angelic energy to the show, singing two enchanting tracks: “PUSH 2 START” and her breakout single “Water.”

The musician emerged from the bottom of the stage as a medley of her music played. She appeared wearing a pair of white feathered signature wings and dressed in a sparkling gold and white bustier with matching tasseled bottoms.

It was as if she had brought a piece of heaven to earth for this brief but outstanding appearance. The singer-songwriter first sang “PUSH 2 START,” a new song from the recently released deluxe version of her debut album. Tyla+which just came out on October 11th. Her singing was as ethereal as ever as aspiring models like Alex Consani, Lila Moss and others strutted around her in fantastic wings.

Their performance then developed into a sultry rendition of “Water,” with the opening notes thrilling the audience and causing them to erupt in screams. As she strutted down the runway, fluttering her wings playfully, mist appeared, clearly feeling how she felt herself.

This year marked the lingerie brand’s big comeback, as its last live show aired in 2018 and was canceled in 2019 due to controversy and external complaints that only one body type was shown on the runway.

Tyla, along with pop diva Cher and K-pop star/BLACKPINK member Lisa, were among the A-listers who provided live entertainment at the event, which was broadcast live from NYC.

Her appearance during the fashion event comes after a big year. The R&B/pop singer kicked off 2024 by taking home her first Grammy for Best African Music Performance for her breakout single “Water.” She then released her self-titled debut album in March to great success. The “Queen of Popiano” also recently took home her first VMAs, with “Water” winning the “Best Afrobeats Video” trophy.

Prior to her performance, Tyla also walked the red carpet at the 2024 VS Fashion Show. Before changing into her bustier ensemble, she wore a pink, floor-length cutout dress.
