LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – A man was arrested Tuesday after Lincoln police say he stole a City of Lincoln vehicle.

A Lincoln Sewer Department employee reported the vehicle was stolen around 9:35 a.m. in front of the Kwik Shop at North 27th and Cornhusker Highway

Police said the employee left the vehicle unlocked with the keys inside when he entered the store. Inside, a man got into the vehicle and drove away.

The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office and the Nebraska State Patrol tracked the vehicle to Sprague, Nebraska, and arrested the suspect, 56-year-old Don Steinshouer, on suspicion of theft by unlawful taking and DUI. LPD said the vehicle was not damaged.
