According to police, two adults were killed and a child was seriously injured in an accident in St. Petersburg

Two adults were killed and a child was seriously injured after their SUV collided with a tow truck in St. Petersburg on Tuesday afternoon, police said.

The accident occurred just before 5 p.m. at Fifth Avenue South and 22nd Street South, St. Petersburg police said in a news release. Two adults in the SUV died from their injuries, and a child was taken to All Children’s Hospital with serious injuries.

The investigation is ongoing and the intersection will be closed for several hours, police said. Further information was not initially available.
