Suspect identified after assault and battery in Derby Street Shops

Hingham police have identified a suspect wanted on two counts of assault and battery at the Derby Street Shops.

On Monday, October 14, 2024, Hingham Police were dispatched to a report of a disturbance at the Derby Street Shops. Responders were told that a man walked up to two different unsuspecting people and struck them, causing the victims to fall to the ground. The victims were not together and the attacks occurred in different locations. The suspect was last seen running towards Derby Street. Both victims suffered minor injuries. None of the victims knew who the suspect was. Officers checked the area and were unable to locate the suspect.

After an investigation, the suspect was identified as Mark Buntrock, age 43, 248 S Windsor St, South Royalton, VT. An arrest warrant was issued from Hingham District Court for: 1) Assault and Battery, 2) Assault and Battery

Anyone who comes into contact with Buntrock or knows his whereabouts is asked to contact Hingham police.
