Walt Disney Imagineering seeks approval for new marquee at Little Mermaid Show at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Walt Disney Imagineering has filed a new construction permit for “The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure,” the upcoming reimagining of the series that will premiere at Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World.

The permit is for the installation of a new marquee and has been issued to Design Communications Ltd. awarded, a company known for its expertise in designing and producing custom signage for notable clients.

The new Little Mermaid show is expected to feature state-of-the-art sets, impressive special effects and reinterpretations of popular musical numbers such as “Part of Your World” and “Poor Unfortunate Souls.” While the show itself has been pushed back to summer 2025, the approval suggests Disney is moving forward with the project, including the outdoor theming.
