Motorcyclist dead after crash in Covington County

COVINGTON COUNTY, Ala. (WTVY) – A man died in a two-vehicle and motorcycle crash Tuesday morning in Covington County.

The accident occurred around 6:45 a.m. at the intersection of Covington County Road 65 and U.S. Highway 84, about a mile east of Sanford.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) accident report, a 2023 Triumph Bonneville motorcycle driven by 29-year-old Brandon K. Veasey II of Andalusia was struck by a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck driven by a 21-year-old . old Austin C. Ingram from Andalusia.

Veasey was thrown from his motorcycle as a result of the collision, with first responders declaring him dead at the scene. Any injuries related to Ingram were not disclosed by ALEA.

The accident is being investigated by ALEA Highway Patrol Division troopers, but no further information is available at this time.
