Leopard: Tragic electrocuted leopard discovered in Bhilwara farmer’s field | Jaipur News

Bhilwara: A leopard was found electrocuted with an electric shock transformer installed in a farmer’s field in Girdharpura village in Badnor Panchayat Samiti Bhilwara district, on Tuesday. Farmer Deepnath discovered the dead leopard sitting on the electric transformer installed near his well in the agricultural field. The foul smell emanating from the decomposing animal alerted Deepnath to the incident. He informed the Electricity Department technician and that Forestry Department about the situation.
Forest ranger Bhairulal Gurjar said the leopard apparently died two days earlier, probably due to Electric shock while trying to hunt near the transformer. The electricity and forest authorities worked together to remove the deceased leopard from the transformer.
Bhilwara Forest Department DFO Gaurav Garg confirmed receiving information about the incident in Girdharpura village. Officers were dispatched to the scene to investigate the matter, which is initially ruled an accidental death. The specific circumstances that led to the leopard’s contact with the transformer are currently being investigated.
Meanwhile, residents of Sanjay Colony in Bhilwara town reported that a jackal was moving around the streets, causing fear among locals. Some people in Bans Gali have even taken video footage of the wandering jackal. Concerned for the safety of their children, the residents informed the forest department to capture the animal.
