Westbury High School assistant principal charged with sexual assault of former student

A Westbury High School assistant principal has been arrested and charged after he allegedly assaulted a 20-year-old former student.

Bryan Devon Tigner was arrested based on the allegations and charged with sexual assault.

According to court documents, the incident occurred on September 27 at Tigner’s Houston apartment.

The documents say Tigner invited the former student to his apartment, where they consumed alcohol and marijuana. The man fell asleep on the couch but woke up around 4 a.m. to find Tigner performing oral sex on him without his consent.

The documents also state that the man punched Tigner in the face in self-defense before Tigner stopped the attack. Tigner then ordered an Uber car for the young man, who left the apartment and contacted 911. The former student later gave a statement to Houston police and underwent a sexual assault evaluation at a local hospital.

Investigators conducted an investigation and obtained a voluntary statement from Tigner, who claimed the encounter was consensual. However, inconsistencies were found in Tigner’s presentation. Investigators determined that Tigner initially claimed the bruises under his eye were from a fight at school the day before the alleged assault. However, investigators found no evidence of injury in the videos of the school fight from that day.

Tigner, who mentors teenage boys through a program at Westbury High School, confirmed that he had known the victim for several months and had invited him over that evening. The victim said he was never cared for by Tigner while attending school.

The former student told police that he and Tigner had not previously had a romantic relationship and were just friends and occasionally drank and smoked together. He expressed his willingness to speak publicly about the incident as the proceedings continue.

Tigner was taken into custody and charged with sexual assault. The investigation is ongoing and investigators are continuing to collect evidence.
