62-year-old cyclist killed in crash in Cocoa Beach

COCOA BEACH, Fla – A 62-year-old bicyclist was struck and killed by a vehicle Saturday evening, according to Cocoa Beach police.

According to police, the accident occurred in the westbound lanes of State Road 520 around 7:03 p.m.

According to Cocoa Beach police, a bicyclist and a pickup truck were involved in the accident, but no further details were released about what led to the accident.

Police said the cyclist was later pronounced dead at Cape Canaveral Hospital.

The driver of the van, a 46-year-old woman from Orlando, remained at the scene and was not injured.
