River Arts in Damariscotta recently announced a call for artists for a special year-end exhibition entitled “Celebration” that will fill the entire gallery. Celebration encourages gallery-goers to purchase affordable art locally for the holiday season, which in turn supports Maine artists. All original works of art and crafts are accepted for this holiday exhibition, including painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, sculpture, ceramics, jewelry, fiber, multimedia, pastel, glass, wood, collage and more. All artists are invited to participate in this non-juried exhibition. This is an open call for proposals with no specific topic.

The works are available for delivery now during gallery opening hours until November 9th at 4pm. Artists may submit any number of works with no size restrictions. The total of all pieces must not exceed $500 retail. Entry forms are available in the gallery when the works are delivered or on the website at riverartsme.org. The entry fee per artist is $15 for members and $30 for non-members. Artists make 65% of sales and River Arts keeps 35% commission.

A public reception for the show will be held November 16 from 2 to 4 p.m. The show runs until January 4, 2025.

River Arts is located at 36 Elm St. in Damariscotta. The gallery’s opening hours are Tuesday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information, call River Arts at 563-6868.
