AT&T Stadium will be a polling location on Election Day for the first time in its history

According to the Dallas Cowboys, AT&T Stadium will serve as a polling place for Tarrant County voters on Election Day for the first time since the arena opened in 2009.

Tarrant County Election Administration will handle logistics, including voting machines and setup, Cowboys spokesman Scott Agulnek wrote in an email.

“We simply provide power for the machines and the space to set up and vote,” Agulnek wrote.

Tarrant County commissioners approved the stadium as a polling location in September and finalized the deal with a contract on Tuesday.

According to Commissioners Court documents, use of the stadium will be free to the county. Tarrant County elections director Clint Ludwig was not available for an interview Monday.

Tarrant County residents can cast their vote at any polling location within county boundaries, meaning die-hard Cowboys fans can also make their way to the stadium to vote if necessary.

According to the county, voters can park in the Silver 5 parking lot and enter via Entrance C.

Election day is November 5th.

AT&T Stadium will not be open for early voting, which begins Oct. 21, but only for Election Day voting.

In 2020, Dozens of professional sports stadiums turned into polling stations. The COVID-19 pandemic has emptied polling stations and necessitated social distancing at the polls.

The American Airlines Center in Dallas had the highest voter turnout in the county this year. according to Politico.

The Houston Texans’ NRG Arena will also serve as a polling station this year.
