The driver dies in a tragic accident involving a luggage vehicle at the airport

A luggage vehicle at the airport had an accident and its driver was killed.

The deceased was identified as a 45-year-old man.

The Maldives Police Service (MPS) has revealed that while the luggage vehicle was traveling, it collided with the base of a structure carrying lights and cameras.

MPS announced that the driver was first taken to a clinic and then transferred to the Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).

According to police, the incident was reported to them around 9:28 a.m. on Tuesday.

In addition, MPS announced that the driver had already died when he was taken to the clinic.

Further investigations were carried out at the IGMH.

MPS cited hospital officials as confirming that the body had no visible external injuries.

Further investigations into the case are currently underway.
