Trump discussed using the military against “radical left-wing lunatics.” Fox & Friends claims Kamala Harris sounded the alarm and was “scaremongering.”

Trump made the comments in an interview with Fox host Maria Bartiromo that aired on October 13:

Former President Donald Trump said in an interview broadcast Sunday that he was concerned about the prospect of unspecified actions by “radical left-wing lunatics” on Election Day and urged that the National Guard or the U.S. military be deployed against those on American soil those he attacks are referred to as “enemies from within”.

In the interview on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures,” host Maria Bartiromo asked Trump if he was “expecting chaos on Election Day,” then listed what she described as “outside agitators,” such as people who are on the terrorist agenda -Watch list, or migrants who have committed crimes.

“I think the bigger problem is the enemy within,” Trump replied. “We have some very bad people. We have some sick people, radical left-wing crazy people.”

Trump added: “That should be handled by the National Guard if necessary or by the military if it’s really necessary, because they can’t let that happen.”

While Fox & friends focuses on Vice President Kamala Harris making the remarks, it wasn’t just her. Trump’s former defense secretary Mark Esper raised concerns in an interview on CNN, saying Trump’s words should be taken seriously. He added: “It concerns me on many levels, not the least of which is the impact it could have on American citizens.” It’s about the impact it has on the institution of the military, the impact it has on the professional ethics of our officers, Non-commissioned officers, soldiers, sailors and airmen could have. That’s why I’m worried about all of these things, all of the impacts on multiple levels.”
