Southbury man charged with identity theft, other violations: PD

SOUTHBURY, CT – A 54-year-old Southbury man was arrested on charges of impersonation following a vehicle stop Monday, according to Southbury police.

Carl Conklin was stopped by police for an undisclosed equipment violation around 5:15 p.m.

Police soon discovered that Conklin was “using a false name and date of birth to mislead officers.”

Authorities also discovered that Conklin had an outstanding warrant for his arrest for a probation violation.

  • Interfering with an officer
  • Improper use of the marking plate
  • Driving an unregistered motor vehicle
  • Disregarding an officer’s signal

Conklin was held in lieu of $4,000 bail and remanded to the custody of the state probation department. He was scheduled to be arraigned in Waterbury Superior Court on Tuesday.
