A man was arrested after his missing Syracuse police badge was found, according to police

Syracuse, NY – A man was arrested Friday after he was found missing a Syracuse police identification card, police said.

Jonathan Kirby, 54, was found on North Geddes Street wearing the badge around his neck, said Kieran Coffey, a spokesman for Syracuse police. An officer reported in May that his badge was missing, he said.

Kirby showed the plaque to an employee at 264 E. Onondaga St., Catholic Charities, and said he was a police officer, according to a criminal complaint filed in Syracuse City Court.
