6 Indian flights grounded after bomb threat, US-bound Air India flight lands at remote Canadian airport

At least six Indian flights were grounded due to false bomb threats. A direct nonstop Air India flight from New Delhi to Chicago was one of the six flights disrupted by the fake bomb threats. The flight was diverted to the remote Canadian airport Iqaluit in the northeast of the Arctic state.

Other flights suspended today include the Dammam-Lucknow IndiGo flight and the Ayodhya-Bengaluru Air India Express flight. Yesterday, two IndiGo and one Air India flights also received fake threats.

The hoaxes were reportedly made by an account on X, formerly known as Twitter. Security authorities carried out precautionary checks after bomb threats that ultimately turned out to be hoaxes.

The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) is investigating the matter with the help of cybersecurity police to arrest the perpetrators.
