USMNT star overcomes injury fears – fit for Serie A duel between Inter Milan and Juventus

Juventus star midfielder Weston McKennie will reportedly be ready to face Inter Milan in the upcoming Derby d’Italia.

According to FCInterNews, despite previous concerns, the US international is not nursing a serious injury after being released early by the USMNT camp.

New U.S. head coach Mauricio Pochettino has allowed McKennie and AC Milan striker Christian Pulisic to leave the national team’s camp ahead of Tuesday night’s game against Mexico.

Both players were in the starting eleven for the Argentine coach’s debut at the weekend.

Pochettino had a successful start to his reign as the USMNT beat Panama 2-0 in a friendly.

However, McKennie’s early dismissal shortly after the game put Juventus on alert.

Despite intense exit speculation in the summer, the 26-year-old has remained at the Allianz Stadium.

In an unexpected turn of events, he has emerged as one of Thiago Motta’s most trusted midfielders this season.

McKennie made four appearances in Serie A, overtaking Douglas Luiz, who arrived in the summer, in the pecking order.

His impressive form and ability to adapt to different positions have made him an integral part of the team.

So when news of his possible injury broke, Juventus fans were understandably concerned.

But it was a false alarm.

McKennie will be ready for the upcoming games.

Following scans at JMedical, the USMNT ace was cleared to return to action, much to the relief of Juventus bosses.

The ex-Schalke 04 star actually meets Inter.

The standout midfielder recently returned to training and could be in the starting lineup for Sunday’s game against Roma.

Simone Inzaghi’s men head to the Stadio Olimpico for their first game after the international break.
