Warrensburg Police Reports for October 15, 2024

AUTHOR’S NOTE: The Warrensburg Police Department issues their reports to the press once weekly. These reports are for every incident submitted from September 16th through September 22nd, 2024. The reports were submitted to KSIS on October 11th, 2024.

On 09/16/2024 at approximately 0211 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 600 block of Spring Ridge Road in reference to a suicidal female subject. She requested to be transported to WMMC for a mental health evaluation.


On 9/16/2024 at approximately 1312 hours, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a silver Hyundai Tiburon near the intersection of Young and Washington Street. The female driver was placed under arrest for a failure to appear Warrensburg warrant on original charges of Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Maintaining Financial Responsibility. Casandra Marie Cornelio, 26,  was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, processed, posted bond of $150 cash only, and was later released.


On 9/16/2024 at 1611 hours, Gloria Holzer reported that someone attempted to open a $2500.00 loan on August 7th at Sun Loan in her name using her social security number. Investigation ongoing.


On 09/16/2024 at 1859 hours, Officers received a report of 2 dogs at large in the 600 block S Main Street. The dogs chased a female subject and caused her to fall. Shelby Guajardo, 26,  was later located and issued a citation for dogs at large.


On 09/16/2024 at 2103 hours, Jordan Washington requested a keep the peace at 606 Burkarth Rd #34. Upon arrival, a large physical disturbance had occurred. The investigation is ongoing.


On 9/17/2024 at approximately 0148 hours, Rigoberto Cruz-Valencia reported that he was assaulted by several male subjects outside of a bar at 131 W Pine Street, on an unknown date. The investigation is ongoing.


On 09/17/2024 at 0221 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of West Young Street.  A male subject reported that he and a female subject threw water on each other. Neither subject wanted to cooperate as victims and agreed to separate with in the home.


On 09/17/2024 at approximately 0820 hours, Officers were dispatched to 519 Maple Street.  Jack Wyman reported that between 09/16 at 2100 hours and 09/17 at 0730 hours, an unknown subject placed an 1800’s era headstone and other objects in his front yard. The objects were seized and returned to the cemetery. The investigation is ongoing.


On 9/17/2024 at 0910 hours, James Enriquez reported that a known male subject was playing loud music at 420 Franklin St. for the past 3 hours. James had called several times prior regarding the same issues with the same subject. James wished to press charges for peace disturbance. Thomas Nodie Du’Ane West, 30, was issued a citation on scene for peace disturbance by playing loud music.


On 9/17/2024 at approximately 0930 hours, At Warrensburg Municipal Court, a known male subject appeared for a citation. The male stated he had proof that his vehicle was insured during the time he was previously cited for multiple separate insurance violations. The insurance card produced was verified to be fraudulent. Investigation ongoing.


On 9/17/2024 at approximately 1925 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of McGoodwin Street in reference to a domestic disturbance in progress. A female subject assaulted known male subject causing minor injuries. Chadsity Leanne Durr, 21, was arrested for Domestic Assault. She was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, processed and released.


On 09/18/2024 at approximately 0023 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 600 block of Burkarth Road regarding a domestic disturbance. Mark Anthony Daniels II, 23,  was arrested for Domestic Assault, Obstruction by Resisting and an active Warrensburg warrant on original charges of Stealing. He was taken to the Johnson County Jail in lieu of his bond of $150 on the FTA warrant, which he posted the next day.


On 9/18/24 at 1136 hours, Officers responded to a clothing store at 354 Hawthorne Boulevard to a  theft that had just occurred. A witness reported that two female subjects walked out of the store with a shopping cart full of clothes without paying a fled in a known vehicle. Investigation continues.


On 09/18/24 at approximately 1112 hours, an anonymous caller called in and reported possible child neglect in the 800 block of South Maguire that occurred possible three weeks prior. Investigation ongoing.


On 9/18/2024 at 1355 hours, Warrensburg Detectives assisted the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office with a crime scene investigation in Chilhowee. Evidence was recovered from the scene and turned over to Sheriff’s Office detectives.


On 09/18/24 at 1620 hours, Officers were dispatched to a retail store at 301 E Cooper Blvd. in reference to a theft. Asset Protection had 2 female subjects detained in their office for shoplifting. One female was arrested for stealing. Lachelsa Daun Rose, 38, was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, processed and released.


On 9/18/24 at 1719 hours, Officers were dispatched to a fight occurring on the 300 Block of Zoll Street. It was determined that the female caller was lying about the disturbance. This report was forward to the Prosecutor’s office for review for charges of false report.


 


 

On 09/18/24 at approximately 1821 hours, Officers were dispatched to a theft of a motor vehicle that occurred in the 100 block of Houx Street. Quinn Wilson reported that the theft occurred between 1744 hours and 1821 hours on 09/18/24. Investigation ongoing.


On 9/18/2024 at 1937 hours, Austin Ball reported his prescription medication was stolen from his vehicle at 413 Land Street between 7/1/2024 and 7/15/2024. On 8/25/2024 the medication had been recovered during a separate investigation. Ball did not wish to pursue charges and requested the bottle be destroyed.


On 09/18/2024 at 1222 hours, an anonymous tip was received about a possible shooting that would happen at the Warrensburg High School (1411 S Ridgeview Drive). After an investigation, a juvenile was identified and arrested for making the threat. They were detained and taken to the Johnson County Juvenile Office for further investigation.


On 9/19/2024 at 1559 hours, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a silver Ford Taurus near Maguire Street and Grant Drive for displaying improper registration. The male driver was placed under arrest for driving with no driver’s license. Austin Lee Andrews, 24, was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, processed and released with  citations on charges of Displaying the Plates of Another Person and Operating a Motor Vehicle Without a Valid License.


On 9/20/2024 at 0107 hours, Brady Zeiler reported that a male stole one political sign from 307 South Holden Street. The incident happened around 0100 hours.


On 9/19/2024 at 2137 hours, A female subject reported that a known male subject possibly stole her trailer hitch and caused property damage to her front door. She advised that the property damage occurred around 9/17/2024. No arrest have been made at this time. Investigation continues.


On 9/19/2024 at approximately 1230 hours, Officers were contacted by the Martin Warren Elementary School (105 S Maguire Street) Principal, who advised that she was informed that a juvenile student was in possession of a knife while on the school bus. First Student was contacted informed me that the same juvenile had used the knife to cause damage to the bus seat. A juvenile referral will be forwarded to the Johnson County Juvenile Office.


On 9/19/2024 at approximately 1420 hours, Officers were contacted by the Warrensburg Middle School (640 E Gay Street) Principal, who advised that a juvenile was found to be in possession of a firework explosive device, a nicotine vape, and marijuana paraphernalia. A juvenile referral will be forwarded to the Johnson County Juvenile Office.


On 09/20/2024 at approximately 0812 hours, Officers were advised that Eric Wilbanks emailed the Warrensburg Police Department to report a theft. Officers contacted Wilbanks, who stated that a black Halo scooter was stolen on 9/9/2024 between approximately 1845 hours and 2100 hours from 414 N Maguire St. There is no suspect information at this time and Wilbanks did not want to press charges.


On 9/19/2024 at approximately 1430 hours, Brandon Figg, the Warrensburg Middle School Assistant Principal, was notified by a teacher at the School, that a known juvenile threatened to shoot up the school. The juvenile’s parent were contacted and a juvenile referral will be completed.


On 9/16/2024 at 1257 hours, Officers were dispatched to an active theft in progress at a retail store located at 301 E Cooper Boulevard. Officers were provided with information that the suspects had left the parking lot and stopped at a gas pump at the Murphy’s gas station. Officers made contact with a known male and female who were questioned regarding the reported theft. This report will be sent to the Prosecutor for review.


On 9/20/2024 at 1446 hours, Officers were notified that the Henry County Sheriff’s Department has a female subject in custody with an active Warrensburg warrant and was unable to post bond. Allisha G. Kuehn, 43, was extradited back to Warrensburg and placed in the Johnson County Jail in lieu of bond of $100 cash only on an original charge of Displaying the Plates of Another Person.


On 09/20/2024 at approximately 1931 hours, I was dispatched to the 600 block W Clark St. to assist JCAD on an overdose. While there, a male subject was arrested for failing to register as a sex offender. Stephan James Burns, 43* was booked and released to Western Missouri Medical Center.


On 9/20/2024 at approximately 1933 hours, Jerson Rodriguez reported an unknown person used his debit card at 301 E Cooper Boulevard around 1600 hours. Investigation continues.


On 09/20/2024 at 2131 hours, Abigail Eschliman reported that a known male subject stole her 2006 Mercury Milan from 321 E North Street around 0900 hours. Investigation is ongoing.


On 9/21/2024 at approximately 0017 hours, Officer were dispatched to Western Missouri Medical Center at 403 Burkarth Road. A juvenile assaulted a staff member by striking them in the torso. The report will be sent to the Johnson County Juvenile Office.


On 9/21/2014 at 0135 hour, Officers assisted the Missouri State Highway Patrol with a leaving the scene crash at 100 NE 13 Highway.


On 09/21/2024 at approximately 0352 hours, Officers were contacted by Madison Morgan in regards to her being assaulted by a known female subject in the 100 block of Broad Street sometime between 0300 and 0305 hours. This investigation is ongoing.


09/21/2024, at approximately 1638 hours, Officers observed a known male subject standing on a concrete barrier in the parking lot of 827 S Maguire Street, drinking from an open container of alcohol. Santiago Matheus, 53, was arrested and cited and released on scene for open container.


On 9/21/2024 at 1656 hours, Officers were dispatched to a store at 301 East Cooper Boulevard.  Asset Protection reported that a male subject stole a pair of scissors. AP approached the male after he passed the last point of sale, and detained the male subject until officers could arrive on scene. Charles Dallion Stephens, 35, was placed under arrest for shoplifting. He was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, booked and released with a signed City summons.


On 9/21/2024 at 1855 hours, a store at 301 E Cooper Boulevard’s  Asset Protection reported that a known male subject was causing a disturbance and refusing to leave the store. Brendyn Tyler Fritz, 22,  was arrested for Driving While Suspended and trespassed from the establishment. He was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, processed and released.


At 0207 hours on 9/22/2024, a gas station’s employees reported two males stole multiple items from 303 North Maguire Street. After follow up, the business has not been able to provide a list of items that were stolen or footage. Case closed.


On 9/22/2024, at 0818 hours, Officers were dispatched to a gas station at 312 North Maguire Street in reference to a vandalism report. Upon arrival, Officers spoke with the store manager, who stated that a female subject got upset with him and kicked the front glass door causing the door to crack. The owner stated he wanted to press charges. Myrett Darlene McCarthy, 44,  was arrested for Property Damage. She was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, processed and released.


On 09/22/2024 at approximately 0830 hours, Hope Faller reported that they left their truck unlocked between the hours of 2200 on 09/21/24 and 0830 on 09/22/24. Faller reported a wallet containing a drivers license, social security card, multiple credit/debit cards and a check book was taken. The investigation is ongoing.


On 9/22/2024 at approximately 1031hrs, Officers were dispatched to the area of 504 Jefferson Street in reference to multiple debit cards being in the yard. Officers located cards belonging to different subjects. Officers made contact with a female subject who reported that her debit card was stolen on 9/22/2024 between appropriately 0000 hours and 0600 hour from their vehicle in the parking lot of 420 Broad Street. Investigation ongoing.


On 9/22/2024 at 1430 hours, Officers were dispatched to a store at 301 East Cooper Boulevard for a theft report. AP employees reported that on 9/10/2024 at approximately 1415 hours an unknown female subject switched the price tags on four items totaling $120.84 in stolen merchandise. Investigation ongoing.


On 9/22/2024 at 1430 hours, Officers were dispatched to a store at 301 East Cooper Boulevard. AP Employee reported that on 9/15/24 at 0926 hours a known female subject ticket switched and skipped scanned several items totaling $137.67 in stolen merchandise. Investigation ongoing.


On 9/22/2024 at 2008 hours, Officers received a call of male subject trespassing at 404 Jefferson Street #H. Shawnacy Johnson, 20, was found and arrested for Trespassing. He was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, processed and released.


On 09/22/2024 at 2109 hours, Officers made contact with a female subject who drove to the WPD at 102-B S Holden St. to pick up an arrestee. Gabrielle Sproles, 23,  was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, Possession of a Controlled Substance  (Hallucinogen) and Possession of a Controlled Substance (Over 35 Grams of Marijuana). She was processed and released to a sober friend.


 

*The name “Stephan James Burns” is not registered in Missouri as a sex offender, has no entries is Missouri Casenet, and as such is not on the Missouri Sex Offender Registry List.   The name “Stephan James Burns” is registered on the Kansas Sex Offender Registry with felony charges of Statutory Rape in the 2nd Degree from Platte City.
