Jim Henson Company is developing “Paul the Bear” children’s television show

The Jim Henson Company, the doll production house behind it Fraggle Rock And Farscapeis partner with Summer camp island Creator Julia Pott and former Disney star Raviv Ullman Paul the Bear, a new children’s series.

The live-action series about a recently retired brown bear connecting with himself and his community will be introduced to buyers at MIPCOM. Paul the Bear is created and hosted by Pott, a British animator and illustrator based in Los Angeles, and Ullman, best known for his role as Phil Diffy, the main character in Disney’s Phil of the future Series.

The series is also produced by The Jim Henson Company, with Lisa Henson and Halle Stanford serving as executive producers alongside Pott and Ullman. Paul the BearSet in an English seaside town, the film will feature real people and puppets and will have a non-verbal lead.

The producers’ logline for the series reads: “Paul T. Bear is newly retired after spending most of his life as a long-distance fisherman at sea, sharing his space with bears at all hours of the day and night. He’s looking forward to finally being alone – painting still lifes of his favorite household objects, attending plays and volunteering at the library. But not everything is easy in new places and Paul will have to make some efforts to find a balanced life.”

Pott created and produced six seasons of Summer camp island for Cartoon Network and HBO Max. Ullman has directed and acted television credits on ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, HBO, MTV, Disney and Comedy Central and is currently developing his feature film debut as a writer and director at Jersey Films 2nd Avenue.

Pott is represented by UTA and Brillstein Entertainment Partners. Ullman is repped by CESD Talent Agency and Vision Entertainment.
