Multiple agencies and a police helicopter are responding to the incident in South Salt Lake

A South Salt Lake neighborhood was busy with police activity in the early morning hours as officers from multiple agencies converged on the area of ​​3300 South and 300 East.

According to witnesses, the situation began to develop around 3:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

Police on the scene would not confirm any information to KUTV 2News reporters, including whether the public was in any danger, given the scale of the law enforcement response – which included a helicopter typically used to spot suspects fleeing on foot becomes.

Vehicles from the South Salt Lake, Murray and Unified police departments and the Utah Highway Patrol were seen near the incident.

2News has additional information on the police presence but is not releasing it at this time until authorities confirm.

Flight-tracking equipment showed the Utah Department of Public Safety helicopter was likely circling an area stretching from Main Street to 900 East and from 2700 South to 3900 South.

During the incident, police closed 300 East and 500 East streets just south of 3300 South.

The roads reopened before 7 a.m

As of the last update of this report, none of the responding agencies had responded.
