Drunk man found at the scene of an apartment fire: Avon Police Blotter

AVON, Ohio

Fire, Detroit Road

Police and firefighters responded to a house fire on September 6 at 10:53 p.m. When security forces arrived, the apartment was full of smoke and there was no response to knocks on the door. Fire and police officers broke down the front door and a drunk man was found in the apartment. Reports suggest that food left in the oven may have contributed to the fire.

Property damage, Center Road

Police responded to a Culver’s restaurant at 10 p.m. on Sept. 6 for a report of a vehicle striking the building near the thoroughfare. No further information was available at the time of reporting

Attack, Colorado Avenue

A man was arrested on assault charges at 7:16 a.m. Sept. 11 when police were called to an attack in progress at a Pilot Travel Center. Police spoke to the two men involved and other witnesses and reviewed surveillance camera footage before making the arrest.

Violation of protective order, Centennial Avenue

Police responded to a report of a protection order violation on September 5 at 8:36 p.m. The suspect was found to have violated the protective order and was taken into custody at her Hayes Street residence.
