Two-year-old girl shot in the arm after bullets were fired at Charlotte home

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) – A 2-year-old girl is recovering at home after she was shot in the arm in a drive-by shooting in Charlotte on Saturday, October 12, according to her great-grandmother.

The shooting around 2:30 a.m. The child was lying in bed when someone fired several shots into the house on Wildwood Avenue.

One of the bullets hit the girl in the arm; another smashed through the headboard, narrowly missing the child’s great-grandmother.

“Someone out there is praying for me,” said the great-grandmother, who wished to remain anonymous. “With these bullet holes in this house, they were trying to kill someone. It would have been the wrong person, it would have been me.”

The girl was taken to hospital.

“God is in this little girl, something is in this girl because she took it in like a champion,” the child’s great-grandmother said. “I thank God it wasn’t worse than it was.”

According to police, there were four other people in the apartment, but they were not injured.
