Man after shooting on Belmont Ave. hospitalized in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) – A man continues to recover from his gunshot wounds following an early morning shooting in Springfield.

Officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation on Belmont Ave just after midnight Monday.

An adult male gunshot victim was privately transported to Baystate with non-life-threatening injuries related to the shooting.

The shooting remains under investigation by the Springfield Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division.
