Crane crashes at Keelung Port after shipwreck, damage estimated at NT$300 million

The incident occurred on Monday, October 14, at around 2:00 p.m. local time when a freighter carrying cargo consisting of a new quay crane entered the port to prepare it for berthing.

According to reports, the rear of the crane transported on the freighter has been identified as Yuzhou Qihang accidentally hit a gantry crane on the port’s Pier 20. The crane then fell onto a container on the pier, crushing it, although there were no injuries among the employees present at the time.
