Man beaten to death in front of his family

October 15, 2024: October 15, 2024: In a tragic incident, a 28-year-old man was beaten to death by a group of men in Mumbai’s Malad on Saturday following an argument over an autorickshaw that hit his vehicle.

The victim has been identified as Akash Maeen, a worker of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena. He was with his parents at the time of the argument.

On Saturday evening, the auto driver collided with Akash’s car while overtaking near Pushpa Park. This led to an argument between them following which the auto driver drove away, Dindoshi police said. Akash was attacked by a crowd that had gathered in support of the auto driver.

In a video, the man can be seen being beaten by a group of men while his father tries to push them away. In a desperate attempt to protect him, Akash’s mother placed herself over his body like a protective shield.

“Maeen was kicked and punched, leaving him with serious injuries. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he died. Based on CCTV footage, we detained six people on Sunday and three on Monday. They have been booked for murder and other offenses under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita,” an official told the media.

Police have arrested nine people in connection with the incident. They will be in police custody until October 22nd.
