Jim Harbaugh talks about the Chargers’ future after the health crisis

The Los Angeles Chargers emerged from the break week with an impressive road win over the Denver Broncos, improving to 3-2 on the season. More significant than the game itself, however, were head coach Jim Harbaugh’s health issues on the sidelines.

Before the game, Harbaugh was seen entering the medical tent and then heading to the locker room. After the game, it was revealed that the 60-year-old was suffering from cardiac arrhythmia, or an irregular heartbeat. The medical scare, also called atrial flutter, prompted Harbaugh to seek help before the game. He has already had two episodes of the incident, once in 2012 and once in 1999.

Harbaugh addressed the media Monday after seeing a cardiologist in the morning. He revealed he would wear a heart monitor for two weeks before being re-evaluated. According to Chargers insider Daniel Popper, the head coach has no interest in slowing down.

Doctors will keep a close eye on Harbaugh over the next two weeks. The former Michigan coach said an ablation procedure is still an option. He had undergone the procedure twice before when he suffered from atrial flutter.

The Bolts visit Arizona to face the Cardinals in Week 7 on Monday Night Football. Harbaugh certainly sounded like he was there with his team. Let’s hope that’s the case and the former 49ers head coach doesn’t give us any more fear.
