The local light show delights viewers this Halloween season

OWEGO (WBNG) – The “Lights on Hullsville” Halloween light show impressed audiences Monday night.

The light show is put on every Halloween and Christmas season by the homeowners and married couple Natasha and James Thesing.

The concept of the Christmas shows dates back to the pandemic, when Thesings were looking for something to keep them busy.

“We didn’t have much to do and thought, is there something we could work on together,” James said.

After researching other light shows, James, an electrical engineer, decided the pair could pull it off.

Their first Halloween show was in October 2021 and December 2021 was their first Christmas show.

“It feels good because the holidays are so expensive. “So it’s a good thing to do something free that everyone can enjoy,” said Natasha.

The Thesings said they attract up to 1,000 people over the course of a show season. On any given night they could have up to 20 cars. parked in front of her house.

“I love hearing it; We can hear them sometimes when we’re inside, especially the kids – they’re so excited,” Natasha added.

12 News spoke with two sets of siblings who expressed their excitement about the event and added that they plan to come back for the Christmas show.

Nancy Parrotte, who works with people with disabilities, attended the light show for the second time.

“When I hear about great activities like this, I get very excited,” Parrotte said. “I want my people to be able to experience the great joy in life and that gets them out and into the community.”

The Halloween light show takes place every night on the hour from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. and runs through November 4th.

Viewers can park at 1487 Hullsville Road, turn on their FM radios and enjoy the 20-minute show from inside or outside their vehicle.

The Thesings are already planning their Christmas light show, which is scheduled to begin in early December.
