ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – There is a backlog of criminal cases in Anchorage, including dozens of homicides – there were more than 100 last year – and hundreds, if not thousands, of misdemeanor trials, some dating back to 2007.

Anchorage Daily News and ProPublica journalist Kyle Hopkins has documented hundreds of cases dropped this year and reports that this is due in part to the backlog.
