Two taken to hospital after accident in Primghar area

Primghar, Iowa – A Sanborn man and a Sheldon woman were hospitalized after an accident near Primghar on Thursday, October 10, 2024.

The Iowa State Patrol reports that 38-year-old Anthony Schueller of Sanborn was driving a white 1999 truck westbound on B40, four miles west of Primghar, around 1:40 p.m. They tell us that 36-year-old Molly Sauer of Sheldon was also traveling west on the B40 in front of Schueller in a 2015 GMC Yukon.

According to the report, Sauer turned left onto Polk Avenue. At the same time, Schueller passed Sauer. The vehicles collided. Schueller stated that Sauer had her turn signals on and did not have a turn signal. Sauer stated she turned off her turn signals and turned on her left turn signal.

The Primghar ambulance took Schueller to Sanford Sheldon Hospital. Sauer’s husband took her to Sanford Sheldon Hospital.

Schueller’s white truck sustained $20,000 in damage, enough to destroy the vehicle, and Sauer’s GMC Yukon sustained $15,000 in damage.

Schueller was accused of passing too close to a bridge, intersection or railroad line; Operation without registration card or circuit board; and failure to maintain or use seat belts.
