Former police officer sentenced to 99 years in prison for sexually assaulting 13-year-old girl

SELMA, Texas – A former Selma police officer was sentenced to 99 years in prison for sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl 10 years ago.

According to the Comal County District Attorney, Albert Zuniga was 56 years old when he repeatedly sexually abused the teenage victim.

The abuse lasted about 7 months.

During the trial, the victim testified that Zuniga rented some horse boxes from her grandparents and was often at the property.

Zuniga was found guilty by a jury last week and sentenced to 99 years in prison by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice last Thursday.

Zuniga served on the force for 26 years.
