Coronation Street’s Gail Rodwell is facing a worrying health crisis

Spoilers for Coronation Street follow.

Coronation Street’s Gail Rodwell will be admitted to hospital next week.

The legendary figure suffers worrying symptoms as the feud with her family spirals out of control.

Gail recently reunited with recurring character Jesse Chadwick after revealing they had a holiday romance in Thailand a few years ago.

As always, Gail’s family aren’t afraid to voice their opinions – with her children Sarah and David worried that Jesse can’t be trusted.

Next week, Gail’s mother Audrey also speaks out as she gossips with David in the salon. Audrey and David completely agree that Gail is stupid for trusting Jesse.

Later in the week, at #8, there’s a big fight between Jesse, Sarah and David. Gail is horrified by her family’s behavior and throws her children out of the house.

Shortly afterwards, Jesse looks in the closet for Lily’s bicycle pump and makes a surprising discovery of his own.

Just as Jesse is about to start asking questions, he notices Gail breathing unsteadily and clutching her arm. Fearing that she might have a heart attack, he calls an ambulance.

Sarah, David and Nick gather on the street in time to see Gail being taken away by emergency services.

Sarah and David feel terrible and blame themselves for starting the fight with Jesse and stressing out Gail.

While Gail is being treated, Jesse turns his attention to the unexpected discovery he made in the house and gently prods David into a confession. What is David hiding – and will he take the bait by telling all?

The scenes are part of preparations for Gail’s departure later this year, after Helen Worth recently revealed her plans to leave the role after 50 years.

Coronation Street will broadcast these scenes on Monday October 21st and Wednesday October 23rd.
