Arlington crash leaves two dead – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth

Arlington police are investigating a crash that killed two people early Sunday morning.

Police responded to a burning vehicle in the 3600 block of West Division Street around 2:55 a.m. Sunday.

According to police, a 2006 Jeep Commander left the road and burst into flames.

The Arlington Fire Department responded to the scene and extinguished the fire.

Officers then found the remains of two people in the vehicle. Due to the severity of the injuries, the victims could not be identified.

Investigators determined that the Jeep was traveling eastbound on Division Street, left the roadway for an unknown reason and struck a metal light pole. According to officials, it then continued eastbound and struck a tree before catching fire.

The investigation is ongoing.

The Tarrant County Coroner’s Office will release the names of the deceased once they have been positively identified and their next of kin have been notified.
